I applied hotfix 823980 to my win2kAdv sp4 server and now it doesn't
boot. The startup screen gets to 10 bars and then stops.
Booting to safe mode stops at NDIS.sys. I have once been able to get it
to boot by removing the NIC and booting to VGA mode (not safe mode). I was
then able to play around within that machine just fine except of course for
network stuff. so feeling confident I put the nic back in and tried again
with the same freeze. so I removed the nic again and now it still freezes at
the same point. It must have been a fluke that it worked once. And I should
have re-applied SP4 when I had that chance but I didn't. Help?
