I saw this question and your answer and I seem to have the same problem. So I copied and pasted as you suggested: however, aftert I hit "OK", I get the message that "DIIUnregisterServer in hhctrl.ocx succeeded" which is different from what I expected. What can I do from this point?

I've got this same problem. I just clicked OK through the "DIIUnregisterServer" message and started accessing files on my WinXP CD. However, now I'm stumped - I've got a message asking me to insert my WinXP SP1 CD but I don't have one. (I installed SP1 via the windows update web site.) Anyone have any suggestions?

Chris,

Reregister hhctrl.ocx.

Start | Run | Paste this in the box:

regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx

Click OK

I accidently unregistered hhctrl.ocx when I was composing the reply for the
OP and the above should fix it. It did for me.

Yes - I saw that but as it turns out I didn't need it. My Help and Support all of a sudden started working again after I re-installed my HP printer software (due to a different problem I had removed the software - not just the driver - and was ready to re-install it). Turned out that fixed the Help and Support problem as well (at least that's how it looks to me). I'm not sure what went on there but it seems to be working again.

I wrote this reply to Wesley. Did you see his reply to me after yours?

Now a get a very brief hour glass but the program doesn't open yet. If I have to reinstall from the Windows CD - I can't find the file either on the disk that came with the computer even though it says it has the SP-1 files.
What should I be looking for?

Try this; Start>Run> type in; sfc /scannow (There is a space between c
& / )...Put XP CD in when asked for it. Possibly it will find and replace
the missing item...Not sure, but can't hurt to try.
