Help activating windows again

Hi:)
I'm puter illiterate...lol. Our computer went down a couple of weeks ago,
(while trying to install service pack 2)...we had a friend fix it for us...
Now it is saying I need to activate windows again, and my product code
doesn't work. Any suggestions what to do??? Does this mean he loaded a
bogus edition of windows and I will have to buy a new one? I can't afford to
lose this computer again...*sigh*

go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, and the activate tab
click on it and locate the phone number for Microsoft, explain what has
happened they will re activate your product code for free. good luck
