Help! I have just added second email acct to 2003 + want new acct to appear
so its connected to contacts,calendar,outbox... I'm unsure of how to explain
it.... but I'll try. Note: I have already made this email account my default
account.
Currently, my view looks like this in "all mail folders" view under Mail in
navigation pane:
+Personal Folders
Deleted items
Drafts
+Inbox ****(This is the inital email, and under OUTLOOK TODAY, THIS
email account comes under inbox (seen under "messages" in Outlook Today.)****

Junk Email
Outbox
Sent Items
+Search Folders
+IMAP.xxxx.edu ****(This is the new email account I just added and when
I click this folder I get a message: "Unable to display the folder. This is
the root of an IMAP store....." Where-as if I click the personal folders
file, the inbox under it's menu is my initial email account. How can I fix
this? Thanks!)

Thanks! PLEASE HELP!

That's not possible. An IMAP account maintains its folders in a separate ..pst file but has only mail folders. Thus, the proxy .pst files holding the IMAP account data cannot act as your default information store.

An IMAP account will have their own set of folders independent of the
delivery location folders. You will not be able to see anthing when
clicking the root of the IMAP message store. You must expand it and click
one of the folders within it. Moreover, IMAP accounts CANNOT have calendar
and contacts folders, since IMAP servers deal with mail only. The Calendar,
Contacts, Tasks, and Journal files in the Outlook Today folder list will
continue to be the active calendar, contacts, etc.
