Headers & Footers

As I make changes in the body of a word document that has styles, extra
returns/lines are being automatically added to both the footers and headers.
This continually makes my view of the page space incorrect and requires me to
go into the footer/header and delete the lines.

Hope you can help.

This is odd!

Are you referencing something in the header or footer area? Like, a
heading style with a STYLEREF field? In what style are you typing when
this happens?

Hi, take a look at your headers / footers that are expanding with field
codes displayed and tell us what you see. You can use Alt-F9 to display
field codes.
