Header and Footers

I have a document that I am amending. Foe each page that I amend, I have to
change the date on the footer. It has not been a problem, except for one
page.

When I go to the end of the previous page to the amendment and enter a
section break, the header and footer on the next page disappears. If I enter
a new one it then starts there as page one.

I am using Office 2002 and the document was written with 2003.

Can someone please help?

Hi Kevin

It sounds to me like the problem section has been set to have a different
first page, and that there's no text in the first page header.

Go through each section and check the settings at File > Page Setup on the
Layout tab.

Hello, thanks for the response.

I did what you said and it fixed half the problem. There is now a header and
footer, but the page after the page break starts at page one. I checked to
see if first page has been unchecked at the page break and it has.

With the insertion point in the section that begins on page 1, View | Header
and Footer. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click Format Page Number. Set
it to "Continue from previous section."
