Header and Footer function is missing in this doc???

Help!

I have tried all I can thik of and I'm not able to get a header and footer
into this particular document...

I'm not able to veiw the header and footer areas, nor is the H&F toolbar
available anymore

Also, insert page numbers does not work...

I am using Office 2002 on Windows XP...

Page Setup > Latout > Headers and Footers > From edge: > Header: 1"
Footer: 1"


Page Setup > Margins > Top: 1" Bottom 1"

Sounds corrupt, Raymond. Can you get it in a new document? Send your file if

Is any part of the document protected for forms?

If not, try moving your mouse pointer just over the top edge of your page
under the ruler. It should change. Click on it when it does. This is the
"white space" control in recent versions.

As Anne says, the document may be corrupt, but your header and footer margin
should not be the same as the top and bottom margin if you are serious about
the top and bottom margins (with those settings the header will push the top
margin down and the footer will push the bottom up). The default setting of
0.5" for header and footer margins will work better.
