we have the same problem . the system crashed then would not open on reboot
with disc . restarted computer and hard drive ( d ) has disappeared with all
our music on it (80 gig)
Been on holiday for 2 weeks so just got yr reply. Electricity went off for
about 30 minutes one day, could that have caused it? and why did it not
affect the 1st drive? Is there anything I can do?
Cheap insurance for any PC is a UPS (uninteruptable power source). They can
even be connected to your PC to shut it down automatically during a power
outage.
P.S. same goes for all electronics - lost a receiver once to a power spike,
won't happen again.
