Hdd Smart mode

can anyone tell me how to activate smart mode on my Hdd? Is this within the
bios of software? I have looked everywere in the bios but can't find it.

Aussat,

May i know what brand and model of hard disk are you using? Only some IDE
hard disk are SMART capable.

To enable or disable, you can do it in your BIOS. If you can't find it in
your BIOS, try flashing a newer version of BIOS. If this doesn't work,
consult your system manual and check if your hard disk is SMART capable.

Additional note: HDD Smart capability also might not appear on older
motherboard (that is why flashing a newer version of BIOS might be needed).
