hdd died, replaced but can't re-load XP home

Recently my hdd died. (No tell tale signs, just dies)
I purchased a new Seagate 80GB-ATA to replace the 40GB
that was in the machine.
I used the seagate install disk to "Set-up" the drive for
XP. XP came with the machine and I recieved an OEM disk
with it.
It then tells you to put in your OS disk and re-boot.
I did that, the machine appeared to boot from the disk.
I then got a screen that is blue and up in the corner it
says "windows installation".
It just hangs there.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Don

Hi,

You could try flashing your motherboard BIOS to the latest
version.

I get this problem every now and again, its all to do
with BIOS settings.
Go into the BIOS, and switch off everything that isn't
needed, and make sure you set the value of "Plug and Play
enabled OS installed" to NO.
Switch off Boot sector Virus scanning in the BIOS, switch
off ALL the shadows (if enabled), disable the 15m-16m
memory hole, and save your settings and try again.
O, and disable SMART if its on as well.

Hope this helps.
