HCT - Driver Verifier fails

Hello!

We tries to pass Driver Verifier test of the HCT Anti-Virus File
System/Filter driver kit.

We are not able to configure our computer in the way it pass this test
even without our product installed. Driver Verifier test (on the step of
ACPI S1 sub-test) sleeps and never wakes then. We noticed that it tooks
too much time between QUERY_SUSPEN message and SUSPEND message.

May be someone knows some hidden settings that we should make to fix
this issue?

Sounds like the computer does not support sleep state S1. Sometimes there is
a BIOS setting which allows you to set the sleep state for standby to either
S1 or S3. If you have such a BIOS setting, try setting it to S1.

Another options is that you have a device driver installed that does not
support low power states. Try setting the computer into standby
(Start->Shutdown->Standby) to see if it actually works.

S1 state IS supported by the computer because ACPI S1 test executed
separately passed without any problems. This also proves that the
standby mode works ok.

Are there any "hidden" settings for the Driver Verifier test?

If the system takes too long to go into suspend, it is probably waiting for
some device to respond to a SET_POWER request. Sometimes putting a checked
build of the OS on the computer and hooking it up to a kernel debugger will
help flush the device out. I would suggest disabling all devices in BIOS
that are not needed such as USB, 1394, SCSI, etc.
