Havn't changed hardware, but have to re-activate?

I just uninstalled and reinstalled my devise drivers, now windows XP Pro.
wants me to re-activate. Is there a problem I should deal with first? I
heard there's a limit to the number of times you can activate XP.

You heard incorrectly. Tell those you heard it from to actually do
research.

You can activate a legitimate copy of Windows XP (any flavor) on any one
given machine as often and as many times as you desire. You might have to
do it with a phone call as opposed to over the Internet... But...
