I'm not sure what kind of scam it is but it sure sounds strange. I
received an e-mail...heavily scanned for all types of viruses...which has
instructions saying that Microsoft and AOL are in on an e-mail beta test of
some kind and asking for the e-mail to be forwarded on to others. It
promises Microsoft will pay $240 for each one sent!!
I hadn't heard of this scam before so I was just wondering what the
story was.

Last week they were selling this bridge over a river in the desert for
$149.99.

it used to be that gap would give you a pair of jeans for every
forwarded message.

i first saw it in '98, i think.

I cannot believe that people fall for this one.

Bill Gates did not become the richest man in the world by giving you his
money.

He became the richest man in the world by you giving him your money.

Ah, you got the rip off. My offer was $119.99, and included a free, rusted and decrepit VW microbus after mail-in rebate.

No I didn't fall for it, I just wanted to know if this was something new
as I'd never come across it before. My old man always told me you get what
you pay for and little else so....

There is no free lunch. ;-) Unless you can con someone into buying you
one.

One of my Uncles E-mailed me twice asking about that hoax. One of my other
relatives was forwarding it on to everyone she knew. LOL
