I currently use corel, but i need to switch to microsoft office in order to
use powerpoint. My laptop is really really old and is currently using
windows 95. In order to use powerpoint do I need to upgrade to windows98?
(that's the highest I am able to upgrade to on that laptop). Which version
of Office would i use on windows95? (office 97?)

Thanks for your help

What's the hardware spec for your laptop? Processor, RAM, available hard drive
space?

I forget what you need for Office 2002 but you can run Office 97 and 2000 on
Win 95, no problems. I'd go for 2000 if you have a choice.

Win98SE (but NOT Win98) will let you install the newer PPT viewer, so you can
view PPTs from all current versions. I can't offhand think of any other good
reason to upgrade to Win98 and depending on your machine spec, you might be
better off sticking with Win95. 98 always seemed to keep the processor pretty
well pegged on my Thinkpad 365 - but if yours is oomphier than the 365's P120
with 48mb of RAM, go for 98SE.
