Have no connection to internet on Windows XP Professional desktop

Error 711 :An configuration error on this computer is
preventing this connection, when I try to setup a dialup
connection.

Cannot load Remote Access connection Manager service

Computer was working with a dialup connection until I had
to update XP over the internet. when computer rebooted I
could't get back on internet through my dialup connection.
When I try to setup a dialup connection to internet
manually only DLS is available and all other options are
grayed out.

Can anyone help me get my internet dialup connection?

I had to resort to a system restore from the day before on mine when I did
an update recently. I have not got to download the update again because
twice when I tried to install it I lost my dialup settings.

You could try doing a restore to the day before. Or the last known good
restore point.
