Disabled rank novice. Need trial, free or cheap compatible version of office
or word and excel. Urgently need for about 3 weeks. Please help.

If you're a college student, I would recommend checking your college
bookstore. If you are a student else where or a teacher, I would recommend
checking out the Student and Teacher edition of Office at the store.

Office XP (i.e. 2002) will work on Win98 and newer. Office 2003 will only
work on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 Server.

You can order a trial version of Office 2003 Professional or download a
trial version of Office 2003 Standard at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/trial/default.mspx

Standard contains Word and Excel (Professional does as well, plus it has
Access, the database product that's the topic of this particular newsgroup)
