Have a problem whutting my Win2000 Machine down?

Dear All,

I'm stumped, I have a Win2000 machine and when I choose shutdown, it
proceeds to shutdown, Saving Settings etc, then I get a light blue screen
(not a BSOD) and it just sits there, it doesn't give me "It's Safe to Turn
off the computer" or automatically turn off the machine?

I've had a look around google, and various forums, and none of the answers
seem to fit my dilema.

Can anybody shed any light on this matter?

Regards.
Paul.

I'm seeing something somewhat similar, only mine just hangs for a while
and eventually gets around to shutting down. This excerpt from
unesrenv.log seems relevant:

USERENV(b4.8c) 08:37:01:189 MyRegUnLoadKey: Hive unload for

the next 60 seconds (max).

unload the registry hive.

This sequence of 5 lines shows up for every shutdown. I see 18 such
shutdowns in the log. Unfortunately, though they're timestamped,
they're not date-stamped. Tried searching the registry on that SID key
and found lots of entries, seemingly related to Windows. I have no
persistent paths to drives across the network that I'm aware of, though
I have one printer share mapped to a DOS port. Any hints??

I have now, I've tried new users, services, etc.... but I can't seem to fix
the problem.... I just locks up on the light blue screen... I think it is
something to do with some software or driver, but I really can't be
re-installing the pc at this present time... :(
