The scroll button that I have on my laptop (IBM X41t) won't work in Word
2007. It works in every other program. One of my friends has a Dell and the
scrolling section of his trackpad is inoperable as well in Word 2007;
however, it works in every other program too. I know it just Word 2007; in
Outlook 2007, I can scroll through my inbox, but when I try to scroll a
message, no dice.

Any one know anything about this? Surely it has come up somewhere, but I
couldn't find it in a search.

Hi there

I have T43 and ofice 2007. I thing I worked something out regarding this
scrolling problems. I t took me arround 2 hours of searching on internet. I
did not find anything, so I switched to check all the possibilities in both
office 2007 and in access IBM settings.

solution which worked in my t43:
If you have active access IBM program:
- go to configure
-go to manage keyboard&pointing devices
-go to track point
- track point window shoud pop out
- click on mouse properities [you can go here easier from "control panel"
too (start-settings-control panel-mouse) if it doesn't work from access IBM]
- go to UltraNav fold (here is your tracking devicecontrol)
- at "track point" go to settings
- at "choose scrolling or magnyfying glass function" make sure you have
chosen scrolling. And here: propably you have "scrolling standard" (that is
waht I had). Click on settings and choose scrolling SMOOTH.
Click ok, ok, ok
Done
Let me know if it worked

Thanks Mateusz, that worked great. On my IBM Thinkpad R60, you also
have the option of choosing "Auto-select" as a scroll option.
Selecting either "Smooth" or "Auto-select" work for me. As a personal
note, I don't like the "Smooth" scrolling as it seems to simulate lag
to me.
