I am new to Embedded XP and would appreciate some help, I cannot seem to
find the information I need...

My company is being proposed two solutions:

1. Using Windows CE - Intel® Xscale PXA272 processor running at up to
512MHz

2. Using Windows Xpe - High-integration National Semiconductor
Geode Processor @300MHz

The hardware architecture being proposed for option 1. Seems to be more
flexible and meets our environment needs better than the hardware in option
2.

However the current applications would be easier to migrate and support
using option 2.

Can Windows Xpe run on the following hardware architecture Intel® Xscale
PXA272 processor running at 512MHz

Your help would be greatly appreciated,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Windows XP / XPe runs only on x86 processors which excludes your potential
Xscale platform. That being said, there are many better hardware platforms
in the Geode line besides the GX1 at 300MHz. The GX2 which runs considerably
cooler at 1.1 watts is a much better CPU and runs at 400 and 533MHz. There
is also a new chip from AMD (who now owns the Geode line) that is twice as
fast with the same power requirements as the GX2. You can look for the LX800
development kit online. Here is a link....
