Hardware Detection and DriverStore

When I plug-in a new device, the install comes up and never finds the
drivers. It says to put a disk in for everything even USB memory drives. I
have to to browse to the C:\windows\system32\Driverstore directory and tell
it search. It does find the driver and installs in too. I have to do this
for each part of the discovery/installation process. USB Mass storage
device, Sony Storage media USB Device, Generic Volume, Storage Media. I
have to the install process where to look each time. Why would this not be
finding them automatically?

You need to reply to the post and include the original text, Steve, or no
one will know what you are talking about.

Also, "me too" is pretty much meaningless. Post symptoms, system specs,
history of the problem. The more information you give (within reason), the
better the answer you will likely recieve.

What exact problem are you having?

You don't give anyone a clue and you could be referring to 1
specific problem from thousands or more!

I have the same problem, On a clean install of Vista Home Premium, when i
plug new hardware eg usb flash drives, PCI Pata cards (Silicon image 0680)

I too am having the same problem. Any answers?

WHAT problem would that be, doofus?

BTW... KEITH LEFT THE BUILDING IN DECEMBER OF 2006. Do you really
expect an answer from him?

Paul,
I'm sorry that you think so little of yourself that you must call other
people names.

If you would take the time to look I responded to a message posted in
August 2008 and again if you took the time you could follow the thread
and know what the topic of the problem.

I took the time to look before I posted, because your post was
meaningless without any background info included with it.

I went to Vistaheads and there were two posts in the thread, the one
from 2006 and yours.

Neither had any info.
