hardware conflict prevents setup

Hi all - I hope someone can help me. I have a computer that has Win98 on
it. I try to run XP Home setup, and during the test for system
compatibility, it reports that there is a hardware conflict between the
video card and the main board, and it refuses to install. I downloaded the
latest video card drivers and tried again, same results. In Win98, the
device manager doesn't report any conflicts. Obviously they can't be
totally incompatible because they have been working together fine with
Win98. Why would XP report an incompatibility between the two devices, and
what can I do about it?

Thanks in advance,
Sheryl

Sheryl, what is the make and model of video card and motherboard. If
you don't know you can use a free
system inventory tool like www.belarc.com
