I installed A 40bg harddrive (new) in my HP 4535.I formatted and tried to installed win98.format took, but, wouldn't install win98,did not reconized the HD.
I then install winXP on same PC,with reinstallation cd from A DELL laptop. btw only good for 30 days which Im sure you know!
1.how can I make the HP reconize the HD with win98.
2.Any way I can keep win XP?

Hi,

How did you try installing Win98? What did you use to partition and format
it?

As to the question relating to WinXP, the answer is no. That is an OEM
version tied to the original system. You will need to do a clean
installation of a retail version in order to keep it.
