Hi
WinXP SP1 updated to SP
Had hardware failure IE replaced M/Board - CPu etc new machine except ram &
all Drives

In the past simply
Boot from Windows XP disc
Choose 'Repair" (2nd time repair comes up)
Follow instructions & bingo XP works with all old settings email, desktop
etc working fine. IE no re-install or need to re setup any personal settings

But not this, get blue screen "save sys for damage"

I am certainly no expert so any help would be appreciated

Your description of the problem is very vague. Do you get the blue screen
while trying to do the repair or does it appear after the repair
installation was performed? What exactly is going on when the notice
appears? What exactly does the notice say?

Thanks Ron,
Yes I was a bit lazy, sorry.
Thought this was a common thing & the answer was obvious.

So, Windows runs through "repair" fine includes entry of serial etc.
But Then goes to open its time from Harddrive @ wham blue screen

A problem has been detected & windows will close to protect ......
If this is the 1st time ............
Check for Viruses Remove new hardware ..................

xxxStop: 0x0000007B (0xf789e63c, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x0000000)

Thats about it

Sys = Dell Precision 625 2G ram 2xXeon 3.0 CPU

Ran chkdsk /f also no errors

This almost always happens when I've put an old drive into a new machine but
"repair" has always worked in the past.

Perhaps that was lick & I should have re installed XP

Thanks again

MS has a troubleshooting article for that stop code:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103
Just guessing, it appears to me there is a serious driver conflict and that
a fresh install may be required if the article above does not provide a
solution.
