hard drive

hello
i formatted my second hard drive throught the right
click and manage procedure(running xp pro) as some one
mentioned to a previous question i posted in here,but now
i want to install an os on it as some one gave me an
oldish computer with no hard drive in it and as my son as
limited exp i would like to set this comp up so that he
can get more exp. so my question is how do i reinstall an
os on this formatted hard drive all your help is well
appreciated

It depends on the OS you want to install. Which OS are you planning to use?

ill be installing me on it as i had me before i bought xp

Use a ME or 98 boot diskette to boot the computer. You will probably have to
reformat the hard drive; since you formatted it in XP you may have formatted
it as NTFS, which ME can't use. Reformat it as FAT 32 and then install ME.

you have to put it in the pc then fdisk and format it again and it depends what o/s your going to use if its xp just set the bios to boot from cd-rom first and put the disk in and restart hit the key one time only at startup
