I have a IBM Aptiva E86 with a 8Gb hard drive. Can any one tell me if i can upgrade my hard drive and whats the largest i can get. Thanks pops
 
The largest you could get is totally dependent on the largest size your
motherboard's BIOS will support - else you will have to get a controller
card to support the large drives available today. Check your manual.

Not always so if you check the book for my computer it
would tell you that the bios and motherboard will only
support a 160g and I have a 200g in it and can use the
who thing.
 
This is not always true my motherboard limits to 150g but
I have 200g and it works fine.
