hard drive

after replacing my motherboard,I connected my second
drive which I use for storing mp3's etc,I found that all
the information had been lost,now I cant even access this
drive,I have tried to load windows on to it,but during
the installion I am told that windows can not access this
drive,is this the end for this hard drive?
 
Does the drive show up in the BIOS? Does it appear in Windows Explorer? If
both of these are true, it may be a permissions issue.
