hard drive

My hard drive is showing more used space than open,it should be about 10gib
less, I've checked everything and can't find any excess, could it be hiding
in system restore?.would a system repair correct it?. also how do you do a
repair for one item?.

For me - I'd never, ever go beyond 70% use of a hard drive without
clearing out clutter and stuff (writing to CD and/or DVD is a good way
to backup stuff IMHO)


Have you thought about a 2nd hard drive?

Laptop = clear out and backup

Desktop = 2nd hard drive

IMO
