Hard drive switch...now problems

I recently had to install vista on a new hard drive after my other one failed
(got it RMA'd). Now its telling me I have to re-register or something-I tried
the product key on the Vista box, but it isn't accepting it. Nothing else has
changed in the system, just the hard drive.
I have one day left.
How can I keep vista?

If it wants you to activate you may have to call the phone number.
Explain what happened - you had a hard drive fail and it was replaced by
the manufacturer. They should give you a new key.

More details needed. What version of Vista are you using for the reinstall?
Upgrade by chance?

Tip - Backup all your files! - Tech support is notoriously bad about this -
you might be lucky but it will probably take a while for them to make
absolutely sure your not using a pirated version.

It *will* get sorted out but in the mean time you should probably download a
Linux livecd or something so you can keep working on your computer whilst you
wait for your new key. These are quite useful for rescuing systems that have
gone down - they boot into the computers memory so they don't touch your hard
disk, but atleast it means you can keep working. You can probaby pick one up
from www.ubuntu.com - check the forums if you need any help.
