Hard drive stops running

During boot up my hard drive stops working, where it
stops varys but it nevers gets past the log in window. I
have tried a different hare drive, and new cable same
problem. Any one have any ideas what may be the cause,
Motherboard ?

Do you let your hard drive go into standby mode? If so then it may be having
problems powering back up. Or, you may need to update your drivers. Most
hard drives will work with windows drivers but usually the manufacturer will
release a seperate set to download.
