Hard Drive / Software question

Hi

I've just re-installed XP on an 80GB HD, with a 200Gb HD
as drive D. I had some .AVI and .WAV files on my USB2
backup drive, and copied them to both my 80 and 200 Gb
drives.

The problem: The .AVI and .WAV files work fine with ANY
program when run from Drive C:(80Gb), but from drive D:
(200Gb), they only work with Adobe Premier. WMP 9 and
other programs distorts the video and audio.

Any other files, pdf/mpg/exe work 100% from the 200 Gb
drive, it is only wav and avi files that get corrupted.

I have downloaded the patch for data corruption on HD's
bigger than 137Gb, but have not yet installed it.

Does anyone know whether this pacth will cure my problem,
and/or if there is other patches that I must download.

I've got SP1 installed. I've also installed the patch, but
no luck playing the AVI and WAV files on my 200GB Drive.

However, I have NOT tried to recopy the files from my C:
to D: Drive after the installation of the patch, maybe the
original copy on my D: drive is corrupted. Will check that
tonight.
