Hard Drive size smaller then really is

S

Shaun Guthrie

I've just installed a 250GB hard drive into a Dell GX240.
Dell says it can support it so it's not the BIOS or
computer. Windows Disk Management shows the drive as
128GB. The Drive in the BIOS shows at 250GB.
I've done some checking and can't find out why this drive
would show up as only 128GB.

Anyone else seen something like this?
Thanks
Shaun

I had already updated the bios. I did also mention the
BIOS did see the 250GB drive fine

You have to enable 48 bit addressing.
