Hard Drive set as RAW??

I keep getting a "Delayed Write Failed" message. I searched these threads and read the articals suggesting fixes but none actually hit the mark. I have no external drives. I tried to turn off "enable write caching", as the article suggests, but it is greyed out and unchangeable
I tried to use Autochk but when my computer reboots it says Autochk cannot be used on a RAW drive. Pulling my hair out over this..any help would be appreciated.
 
I have the exact same problem and it seems to be devouring resources as well as making my whole environment unstable. I don't want to lose files by reloading XP but for some reason cannot back them up onto CD as I keep getting this error. Tried everything else and am now ready to burn the laptop on a bonfire! Anyone found an easy solution yet?
