Hard drive partitions

I just recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled
Windows XP Home. Prior to this, my boot drive had two
partitions, the C: drive and a secondary partition. Now
that I reformatted and reinstalled windows on the C:
partition, the other partition isn't showing up and the
hard drive isn't even recognized as the correct size. Any
idea how I can fix this problem and get my secondary
partition back?

I have used Acronis' RecoveryExpert on several occasions
to restore lost partitions.

Find out a few things. What is the current size of the C drive. Also did you
install from a OEM version of XP home or was it a full installation cd? i.e
did ur cd come with a piece of hardware like your computer? IF so then the
OEM version of XP home will usually format your drive and delete all
existing partitions. It will neither create any partitions nor ask you if
you want any created. IT will just create one huge drive.

My C drive is 30GB which is not the size of the full
drive. The full drive is 120GB. I have a full
installation CD and only formatted the one partition. But
no matter what I do, even with Recovery Expert which was
recommended to me, nothing recognizes the other
partition. It's only reading the drive as a 30GB drive.

Try right clicking My Computer and selecting manage. Then
disk management. You should be able to format the unused
space on the drive.

Personally, I have and use Partition Magic.

Partition Magic is highly recommended in your case. You can easily create a
new drive by using the free space
