Hard drive not detected

My pc does not detect my hard drive. I have tried
different IDE connectors, ribbon cables, another known
good hard drive, and all possible jumper combinations. If
anyone has a suggestion I will truly appreciate it.

Is it visible in the BIOS? If not, you have hardware problems (natch). Is
this a known good hard drive that works on another computer?

Go into your Bios, go to the bit that has auto detect ide drives, If it
doesn't show, your on board ide controller has probably died.
