Hard drive lost to vista install

When I installed Windows vVista last night I lost my G Drive in windows
explorer. It shows up in Device Manager and under properties, volum I choose
to populate I get the message "Volum information can not be found". So it
looks like somehow the great Vista god corrupted it when I did a clean
install with an upgrade disk through windows. How can I get the use of this
disk back? Saving the backup stuff isn't that important now.

You might check to see if you just need to assign a drive letter while in
disk management before you format it.
