windows xp is not starting up..keeps saying boot failure when i tried the xp
disk to reload xp the startup disk couldnt detect any hard drive...what do i
do?!

When did this take place, and was xp running ok on the hd.Try physically
moving the hd to another slot on the IDE cable, try opening the BIOS and
see if its detected there.Other than that, booting to xp cd,recovery, press
enter for password,at screen type:DiskPart See if its detected, type:EXIT
to leave recovery,type:HELP For menu options.CHKDSK C: /p Would be a good
cmd to run if it would.
