Hi, I have a Desktop Case computer system.
I want to add another hard drive but have no drive bays available, The only
place I could put it is on some spare room on the bottom of the case,
connected to the normal data cables and powers supply plugs but actually not
fastened to anything, assuming there will be no knocks to the case will this
be ok or am I setting up some future problem. In short does the HD have to
be screwed into the case or bay??
Michael, Merry Christmas and New year to all

Hi,

My basement box has two drives laying in the bottom of its case and
works just fine. I don't screw them in because I use them elsewhere
often enough that's it's too much trouble fooling around with the screws.

The flat cable provides all the grounding required for the drive to work
that way.
