Hard drive about to fail warning

I found this warning in the Event log:

The driver has detected that device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 has predicted that
it will fail. Immediately back up your data and replace your hard disk
drive. A failure may be imminent

In this instance, which numbering scheme is MS using? Is the first drive 0
or 1? I have 4 physical disks, one of them has two partitions.

Thanks

Go to run, type:diskmgmt.msc In msc, youre hd or volume by nos. will be
listed.....Also,you might boot to xp cd,recovery,type:CHKDSK D: /R The
repair on the disk might offer a fix to bad sectors,& might fix it for
awhile,
D: being the disk in question. Also, download from the drive mfg web site thier
MS-DOS disk chk utility,download to a MS-DOS formatted floppy,boot to floppy.
The tests will give you all the data you need to chk it...

The disk order starts with Disk0. Backup any important data off of the suspect
drive first, then download a disk diagnostic utility from the manufacturers support
site and run it to check the integrity of the drive.

If you have problems finding one from the manufacturer, Seagate has one named
Seatools that works on most drives:
http://www.seagate.com/support/disc/utils.html

Try the manufacturers site first and only download Seatools if you have a Seagate
drive or a diagnostic utility isn't offered by the drive manufacturer (Unlikely).

Thanks to both of you. I should have thought of looking in disk management.
I'll try the diagnostic program and let you know.
