Here are a few links that might help:

http://www.restorer2000.com/r2k.htm
http://www.hddrecovery.com.au
http://bootmaster.filerecovery.biz
www.acronis.com (RecoveryExpert)

I have used the last product a few times, to recover partitions
that had vanished. It worked as designed on each occasion.

- Try the disk in some other PC.
- Depending on the result, buy a new disk.

If BIOS does not see your hard drive after a system crash, the most likely
scenario is that your hard drive is dead.

As Pegasus suggested, try the drive in another system -- if it is not
visible to BIOS in another system, it is dead.

Pegasus:

Can these utilities actually access a hard drive that the BIOS does not
recognize?
