Hard Disk keeps filling up about a Gig a day.

I clean installed Windows XP Professional about two months
ago onto my Dell Latitude CS model computer. Everything
work properly but Disk Cleanup does not seem to work. The C
Drive keeps filling up about a Gigabyte a day until it
fills up completely. At that point the drive seem to clean
itself up and the Properties show about the amount of
material that is actually on the disk. After that the cycle
begins anew and Properties show larger and larger used up
space. The external hard drive also shows to have more on
it than it actually has

The Knowledge Base article "Disk Cleanup Tool Stops
Responding While Compressing Old Files" suggests using the
Registry Editor and make changes. I made the prescribed
changes and now Disk Cleanup no longer stops but the disk
still keep filling up.

Any suggestion(s) what to do?

If you're installing new stuff alot, check that the
System Restore option is turned off. It may be the
culprit. I'm not sure how much space a restore point
gobbles up, But it can't be insignificant.

You're the only one that can open windows explorer and monitor what
folders are growing each day. Find out what is getting bigger and post
back. We can then help you. The biggest space hots are system restore,
which if left at default will use 12% of the drive space the the
temporary internet files which will grow as big as you let it unless you
put a cap on them, which you should.
