After installing Windows XP, what is going well, I change the BIOS
setting from CD-ROM to HDD-0. And restart the system...

Then the problem is there.....

The system does not recognize my hard disks, then he wants to Boot
from CD...
But there is no boot CD-ROM after some seconds I get the message DISK
BOOT FAILURE, INSER SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER...

Who can help me with this problem!!!!!

Hello Johan,

check your BIOS to see if the hard drive appears there, if not check your
cables/jumper settings/ ect. if it does appear. Try putting you settings
back to when it worked. You can have it boot from the cd first and then the
hard drive. It will look to the cd drive, and if it doesn't see anything it
will move right on to the hard drive.

Hello :)

im guessing you mean you changed the boot device in the
bios from

CD-Rom to HDD-0??

which it should have been on in the first place
after you have installed windows
and should work fine ummmmm

are you running raid???
do you have 2 HDD and are using the wrong one to boot
from? might be HDD-01 if thats the case

if not try making the CD-Rom the first boot device and
make the HDD-0 the second boot device

see if that works

let me know

Good Luck

Thnx Micheal,

But I have checked my cables/jumper settings I think a thousand times
and still the same conclusion. It must be good.

Even your option boot first from cd-rom then hard-disk will not work.
Because I have no bootable cd in my cd player and the pc will not find
the hard disk.

Any other suggestions for me??

Yes correctly!!

No I am not running RAID.

It will not work. First the pc will check the cd-rom, well there isn't
a bootable cd. Then the pc is trying to read the hard disk. Well
that's the problem; the pc will not find any hard disk. And that is
strange because I just installed XP on the hard disk. When I have done
that, I just reboot the system and the pc will not find any hard disk.

Hello Johan,

If you un-plug the CD drive all together will it boot correctly? Is the Hard
Drive and CD drive on the same IDE channel? (I have heard that can be bad)
