I just installed an 80 GB hard disk on my system (running Windows Server 2003 Std).
The problem is that, when I open "My Computer", the disk is not shown. But if I type
"H" (its drive letter) on the Address bar, then voila, the disk's contents *are*
shown in Windows Explorer (though I can't get it to be seen by the "Copy To" and
"Move To" tools, either). I can access it alright with the DOS prompt, too.

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its My Computer - Drives page has checkboxes for each letter so you can
conceal the presence of selected drives: Make sure H is checked

Hi Alex,

OK, I finally decided to install TweakUI -- a program which I had never
used before. Indeed, under My Computer/Drives, the box corresponding to
drive H was *not* checked. I checked it, and now drive H is shown fine
in "My Computer", and also in "Move To"/"Copy To". I really have no
clue why the letter wasn't automatically brought up in the first place
(one shouldn't have to be forced to use TweakUI just to be able to see
a hard drive!), but I'm happy and grateful to you (and everyone else
who has tried to help) that a solution to my more immediate problem was
found in the end!

Cheers,
