Hangs with photoshop and other setup exe's

Help! i cant get photoshop 7.0 to install when i run
setup, it shows its busy but then stops working...i can
use the computer (it doesnt hang) and when i go to task
manager, setup.exe is still running...ive waited and it
never kicks back in......

also happens on Powerdesk 4.0 Pro it lock up after
accepting the liscense agreement

and EasyRecovery 5.0 pro ed. when it tries to edit the
registry...

i have only 1 user set up, mine and it is an admin...

plz help i u can!

Have you tried leveraging the manufacturers of these third party
applications? Usually InstallShield or whatever deployment method they are
using to install the application will have logging that can help you
troubleshoot the 3rd party installation problems.
