Old versions of Photoshop and Dreamweaver in Vista

Marie Swe

Hello there!

I just bought a new computer with Vista Home Premium and I would like to
know if I can run Photoshop 7.0 and Dreamweaver MX in it? I don't really feel
like paying a lot of money for upgrades...

You need to check with Adobe tech support (or look on their website) for
that answer. I know that only the most recent Adobe programs are
supported in Vista. I don't know if older ones will work, though.

I don't have any problems running them.

Hi,

They might, but the problems with programs like those are that they
frequently load and use device drivers and service routines. These are
generally operating system-specific, so they require that you use a version
of the program that is compatible with the OS installed on the computer.
Only thing you can do is try it, possibly under compatibility mode, and see.
If they don't, well then you are stuck with upgrading to compatible
releases.

Just try and install it. Set the Install.exe for XP Compatibility and then
Run As Admin.

I am running Photoshop 7 on my Vista 32 bit machine fine. Just remember to
install it as admin (right click on the setup.exe , choose "run as admin".
