Hangs at loading personal settings

I have a windows 2000 professional machine that is joined
to windows NT 4.0 domain. The system hangs at loading
personal settings after logging in to the domain. I can
log on locally with an admin account, but it hangs with
any domain account. Any ideas or suggestions is greatly
appreciated.

Sounds like it is trying to pull a roaming user profile
from a server. It could be taking a long time due to a
large profile over a slow WAN link. First logons to any
computer when using a roaming profile take longer than a
normal logon also.
