Hanging up during Disc Cleanup

My computer keeps hanging up when I try to run Disc
Cleanup, at the point where it says "compress old files"--
any ideas how to work around this?

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it
