Hanging Boot

I've noticed at times in my XPe image after the POST I sit at a black screen
with no activity on the Hard Drive led. After a few minutes it'll slowly
bootup, and because it runs so slow I need to restart. Upon restart I'll
going the F8 boot menu screen and select Safe Boot. As the OS starts to
boot, and the drivers the OS are loading they are displayed on the screen I
notice it hangs at gagp30kx.sys and no activity on the Hard Drive light.
When it does come back to life the rest of the file states that it Did Not
Load anything after that.

Anyway have any ideas?

Loaded driver gagp30kx.sys
Did not load driver Audio Codecs
Did not load driver Legacy Audio Drivers
Did not load driver Media Control Devices
Did not load driver Legacy Video Capture Devices
Did not load driver Video Codecs
Did not load driver Infrared Port
Did not load driver WAN Miniport (L2TP)
Did not load driver WAN Miniport (IP)
Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPPOE)
Did not load driver WAN Miniport (PPTP)
Did not load driver Packet Scheduler Minip

Probably you've fixed the issue by now, but I'll comment anyway: I have a
very similar problem, and my research, and my checking with recovery console
leads me to the almost inescapable conclusion that the drive is failing.
That sure sounds like your problem too. I've been down this road before in
other ways, and it's worth noting that a failing drive sometimes takes quite
a while to well and truly die, and until then you can load and reload and
repair xp til the cows come home, and only enjoy brief periods of use before
the problems begin again. Good luck, but try a new drive, or at least to
recovery console and run chkdsk.
