Halo only game works through router/xp firewall

I have never been able to host an online game because I can't figure out how
to forward ports to my Linksys Router (befsr41 model). I had to use that
company's configuration program just to get the router to work with my cable
modem. The problem with using their program to automatically configure the
router for internet service is that it will not let me manually go into the
router's menu at http://192.168.1.101/, which you have to do to forward
ports!

But I just noticed that Halo will work. People have no trouble at all seeing
my Halo server in the game list going through the router.

What is going on here? Why whill Halo work but all other games I have need
port forwarding? Any ideas?

The web management address for Linkysy routers is not 192.168.1.101.
Check your user manual. It's either ...0.1 or ...1.1

Thanks. That was a typo though. The address is http://192.168.1.1, and it
still won't let me in. I get nothing but "page not found errors" when I try
to access the router.
