Halo 2 problems (Vista)

Bobby

I have tried to install Halo 2 (for Vista) on my PC (running Vista
Ultimate).

My computer has an ATI 9800 Pro graphics card (AGP). It runs Vista (and
Aero) fine.

But my PC resets when I try to run Halo. I can't get into the game at all
and I only get a few setting screens before I get the BSD.

I've downloaded the latest (Vista) driver for my card.

Has anyone got Halo 2 working with this graphics card? Is it a known
problem? Is there a workaround? Otherwise I've just wasted £30 ($60).

Cheers.

A post in the "Games" forum offered this advice, it might help:

Symptom

Halo 2 crashes and forces reboot right after loading the bungie Screen.
Happens every time. Updated all drivers to newest without success.

However if I press space to prevent the bungie logo from loading and go
directly to main menu. Halo 2 runs fine. If anybody else has this problem is
there a fix?

Sounds like you and BruceD have been hanging out !!!
Get an nVidia gfx card and all your problems will go away at the same time
as your framerates rocketing sky high !!
