Ok, so I´ve tried "bootcfg /rebuild", which results in a Fail, a message
telling me that it´s not possible to search for windows installations and
that Bootcfg can´t search the harddrive correctly. So i do chkdsk, and
everything´s apparently fine. I´ve also tried the "expand
d:\i386...hal.dll"-command, which results in a "can´t find file or cataloge".
What to do?

Are you actually able to get to the Windows desktop or is this being
done with the recovery console?

Make sure the CD-ROM drive letter is correct D:\ Not E:\ or something else!
expand D:\i386\hal.dl_ C:\Windows\System32 (where d: is the drive letter of
your CD drive)
Note: a space between D:\i386\hal.dl_ and C:\Windows\System32

Or this : expand D:\i386\hal.dll C:\Windows\System32
Make sure the First Boot device in the BIOS is your CD-ROM then your Hard
drive.
You looks like having a space in the Boot loader been written somehow to
your Boot.ini!
